WCDP Nominating Convention (August)

The Wexford County Democratic Party Nominating Convention will convene in person on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 5:00 pm at the MEA office on North Mitchell Street across from the Wex. The Convention will precede our regular monthly business meeting.

Registration and credentialing will begin at 4:45 pm and continue until 5:00 pm.

The purposes of the WCDP’s 2026 Nominating Convention shall be to formally nominate Democratic candidates to the November General Election in the following contests: Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General, State Board of Education, University of Michigan Board of Regents, Michigan State University Board of Trustees, Wayne State University Board of Governors, and State Supreme Court.

The Michigan Democratic Party is holding its 2026 Nominating Convention on August 29, 2026, in Lansing.

Delegates to the Wexford Nominating Convention shall be registered members of the Michigan Democratic Party at least 30 days before the convention and residing in Wexford County as of July 12, 2026.

Precinct delegates, Democratic elected officials, and Democratic nominees residing in Wexford County may become members on the day of the Wexford County Nominating Convention.
